Coxcomb Quilt Start

Just a quick update on what I am currently working on.  This quilt is a Susan Garman pattern called The Coxcomb Medallion Quilt.  It is a club quilt at the LQS, so we work on it monthly.  My pieced blocks are done for month one, and I am still working on my hand applique!  There are about 40 tiny berry circles on the applique block.....this will take a little time and a lot of patience to get those berries looking like berries not boxes!!
6.5" Evening Star Block

Applique Center, still working on the Flower Petals and the gazillion teeny, tiny berries!!

6.5" Friendship Star Block

12 - 3.5" Pinwheel Blocks

Well it seems I have an evening of uninterupted "Me Time"!  So I think I will go sit at the sewing machine and work on a few of my other projects :)

Happy Stitching,

Its DONE!!

Doin the Happy Dance!!  I am finally finished this amazing quilt!!  I can't even begin to imagine how many pieces are in it!!  I think this week I am off to find some backing and send it off to the quilters....woohoo!!  I had my boys hold it up while I took a picture.  This was not an easy task since the Superbowl is on right now!  So its not the greatest pic, but it will have to do.  They had to stand on the couch because it is so big!!

I took a close up of the border so you can see it a little better.  Bonnie Hunter did a great job with this pattern.  It was definately a mystery until the very end!  But its one Mystery I am happy to have solved....

Happy Quilting friends....

The remaining side borders.  Waiting!!

I am so close to having the top totally finished!  I think I will sit up and finish it tonight after supper.  Maybe, hopefully, tomorrow I can post a finished quilt top.......woot woot!!
